Hey all.
Bit of sad news. After much thought...I've decided
to put Essence on hiatus. I just don't feel
like I'm creatively burnt out...and I've only been
doing this for a year. Eh...I dunno...sorry everyone
just give me a few months, maybe I'll feel up to
continuing Essence. Eh...

Oh and by the way, if you're running Internet Explorer
the site will look the best if the font size is set
to smallest.

So today’s filler requires a bit of explanation, no?
Yes, let’s begin.
SO…I decided to pre-order the new Sonic game for the Wii
(What can I say? I’m a HUGE Sonic fan).
I ordered it from
Gamestop This was on Monday the 21st. The games were going
to begin shipping on Tuesday (the day after) via UPS. I paid
for 3 day shipping meaning the game should have gotten here…
wait, I’ll go nice and slow: Tuesday (that’s 1),
Wednesday (that’s 2), Thursday (That’s 3!). Wow, isn’t
counting fun? So I assumed the game was logically going to get
here on Thursday. BZZZT! Wrong. That was my first mistake. I
assumed concepts like sanity and logic applied to
UPS. They do not.
I should have first noticed something was awry when I went to
track my order. They had received my order at 10:41 AM on Tuesday.
“Oh, that’s good,” I thought, “They’ll start shipping it soon and
it’ll be here in no time!” BZZZZT! Wrong again. My order, in fact,
did not begin shipping until 1:06 PM the following day. What were
they doing for 26 hours? I couldn’t say. Perhaps they were scheming
up more ways to cheat private businesses out of their money, maybe
they were trying to see if they could make themselves appear any
more incompetent than they already do (a difficult task), or maybe
they were busy throwing fecal matter at one another. Whatever the
case, I can tell you what they weren’t doing. Shipping my package.
However, things got even weirder. My order wasn’t actually going to
be arriving until, get this, the following Monday. That’s a week
after I placed it.
However, this wasn’t even the most shocking thing. So on Friday I
got home and checked the status of my order. NOT ONLY has my package
passed through Boise (where I live) at 7:17 AM, it has gone unnoticed
until it hit Nampa, an hour away. At this point, UPS actually, by the
Grace of God, did something RIGHT and sent the package back my way.
However, the strangest part of all this, is that the date of delivery
hasn’t changed. That's right. So, I was a bit confused as to what to
of this. Since it arrived in Boise at 7 AM Friday, it easily could
been delivered Friday, thus the date of delivery would have been Friday
However, the date of delivery is, and always has been Monday.
This could mean that this "delay" had been planned out. I'm not
going to say anything one way or the other...I'll let you draw your
own conclusions.
After finding this out, it suddenly clicked. UPS is quite obviously
run by a group of manatees who dropped out of high school because they
were too cool for school. They probably smoked too.
So I sit here, typing away, wondering what will become of my game. The
game was actually released to the public Friday, so I just would have
been better off avoiding the headache known as UPS all along. However, I
am not alone. After all of this, I decided to Google “UPS sucks” and came
up with w00! total link!.
It’s very well written. and is good for quite a few good laughs if you read.
As of now, I have no idea when my game will get here. The date is set for
Monday, but after reading almost everything on that site, and having my own
little “experience” with UPS, I doubt it’ll be here. And if it unbelievably
DOES make it here on Monday, it will be 4 days later than what I paid for,
and the game will have been available to the public for 3 days.
To be honest, after all this and TONS of homework…I just didn’t feel up to
doing a comic this week.
And if I don’t get my free wrist band for preordering the game, someone
will be getting an e-mail!
-Tyler-
Update: After checking the progress of my package, I found out that as of
10:57 PM Friday it was sitting in a UPS warehouse. It made it back into
Boise but won’t be delivered until Monday.
Update 2: The game has arrived, safe and sound. We can all breath a sigh of
relief now. BREATH A SIGH OF RELIEF OR FEEL MY WRATH!
Update…3: Aaaaaagh! This was supposed to be up Sunday as some filler work,
but I didn’t manage to get it done. Pathetic I know…but…homework…yeah…

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all are having wonderful
holidays! Now a few notes about today's comic...This is NOT
part of the Essence series. This is just the beginning of a mini-
series. I'll be posting a page of this mini-series every holiday.
This is also time for me to bid you all a fond farewell, as this
is the last update of the year! Expect Essence to start updating
mid-January...
But getting back to Christmas...do you know what one of my favorite
parts of this holiday is? The games. I always get a HAUL of video games.
In fact...I've been gaming for 8 hours straight, and I
haven't even unwrapped all my gifts yet.
Well that's it for me, I'm off to play Twilight Princess. See you
all in 2007!

Hey. I really hate to say this, especially after I skipped an
update the other week, but I don't think I'll be able to post
a new comic this week. I've been pretty busy all week, filming
a school project. Sorry everybody!

November 26th, 2006
Hello again. Hope everybody had a nice Thanksgiving.
I know that I didn't update this week. I honestly tried really
hard to get it done, but between the 3 Monopoly games, 36 hours
of Halo 2, and a TON of other stuff I did with my family, I
didn't get it done.
Now to tie up a few loose ends. This is coming really late,
but about the end of Marching Band: at our marching competition we
took 3rd place out of 20(not bad, eh?) Next week, I'm gonna dive
hardcore back into this comic. I'm gonna update and probably add a
few webpages. A Newsbox post should be coming soon, and a new chatbox
too. That's about it...so yeah. Expect regular updates for a bit.

Very quick update. I have removed the Tag-Board message box
because...to be honest, I have absolutely no idea what's going
on with Tag-Board right now. I'm not going to go looking
for a replacement until Marching Band is over, so once again,
sit tight.

Hey all. Don't panic about me missing an update yesterday. My
Marching Band took a trip to Pasco, Washington to compete at
the Cavalcade of Bands on Saturday. (We got 8th place, which isn't
bad, considering there were 26 Bands competing.) To put it simply, I'm
totally shot. Also, my Band schedule gets very VERY heavy from
here until the 21st. And so, there will be no updates from now until
the 29th. Sorry, but now I barely have time to do my homework, much
less a weekly comic, even a crappy one. BUT, right after the 21st,
Marching Band is more or less OVER, so I'll be continuing Essence!
(Yes, the actual comic instead of my filler.) Also, I'll definetly add
quite a few more pages to the site AND I'll definetly post an ad on
the Newsbox. So there will be lots of good happening, so just sit tight
until then.

Right, I'm running a fever, so I'm gonna try to make this
short. As this week's comic states, Essence is on a temporary
hiatus. The reason? I simply don't have enough time to do a
weekly strip. I have Marching Band Practice for almost 3 hours
a night nearly everyday of the week. Along with that, I have the
load of homework my teachers feel compelled to give me. Between
those two things, all my time is eaten up. I toyed with the idea
of only posting one update a week for Essence, but I decided aganist it.
Now onto the next couple weeks. You're gonna be seeing strips like
today's for a while. It looks ALOT different from Essence (No torsos,
the eyes, smaller shoulders etc.) because I drew it in another one of
the styles i like to play around with. This style is incredibly easier
for me to draw and color, and it takes less time to complete than my
usual style. I also enjoy the chance these strips give me to tweak
around with the panel layout, since they're not Landscape style, like
Essence. These comics are going to feature stories about me and my
friends. I'm going to avoid using inside jokes, because they just
wouldn't be funny to the average reader (duh). If you're wondering
about today's strip, the stuff in the background in the first panel
is my room, and the thing I'm carrying is the instrument I play in
Band (a bass clarinet, not a very popular instrument). That's about
it for now, not quite as short as I wanted it, but oh well. I'm gonna
go make some Chicken Noodle Soup now...

Yes, I'm aware I've missed a couple updates. That's because
I have quite a number of things going on this summer.
I'm currently working on creating a number of games with the
Game Maker program. My Birthday was fairly
recent as well. And I'm also enrolled in Driver's Education.
So just sit tight, I don't have an update for this Sunday
(which happens to be tomorrow), but I do have one for
next Sunday. So don't worry about it, I won't let this comic
die.

It's been awhile everyone. Unfortunately, I have some bad news.
There won't be a comic for the next two weeks. I'm leaving town
this weekend and won't have any access to a computer. Next week
I'm having finals at my school, so I'm going to be busy all week
studying for those. HOWEVER, I have prepared some artwork done
by me and my friends. There will be 3 peices a week put up.
Hope you all like them, and see you in two weeks!

Well...I preordered Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children by Square-Enix,
eagerly opened the package, fired up our DvD player and...was
disappointed. The movie, unfortunately, hadn't lived up to my
expectations. After the original Final Fantasy VII, I was expecting
the movie to have an incredibly deep story, which it didn't.
The entire reason the game was probably the best game of all time
was because of the intense storyline and well developed characters.
I was also expecting Cloud and his teammates to journey they world
again, which they didn't. Most of the movie took place in Midgar
and was just alot of Cloud. I'm not saying it wasn't a great movie, but in my
opinion, it just didn't live up to the reputation of the game. Advent Children
would probably be a great movie for someone who hadn't played the game,
because they wouldn't have had HUGE expectations for the movie. I just
think it's a giant let down. (Yay, my first rant.)

Right, I haven't got alot to say, so I'll get right to the point.
Comicgenesis is going to be deleting a bunch of their old sites fairy soon.
My other site, Role Play Reality is going to be one of them.
I honestly think that that comic was a bunch of garbage started when I was fairly unskilled at HTML and drawing,
so I have no intention of saving it.
Which brings me to my point:
If you want to read through the 15 comics or so I had up, you better do so soon, because I'm not going to cancel it's deletion.
I don't expect many people will read through them but I just thought I should let you all know. That's all for now.

Heeeeeeeeey there all fellow internet goers. If you're reading this you must have found my site.
There's not alot here right now, but sit tight. On Friday of this week I'm going to work on redesigning the site.
This isn't my first webcomic, I actually worked on Role Play Reality for quite a while.
This one'll update Sundays...and...yeah that's about it. See you all Sunday.
